Ghana Navigators held its first General Conference for the year in Accra at Osu Presbyterian Church Conference Room 1 on 22 May, 2010. Uncle Ben Aseidu spoke on “Each Person Matters to God” derived from the core value – “The Dignity and Value of Each Person”.

It became clear that sin deforms us but God transforms us! In fact “you can be religious without being transformed in your mind”. Sin affects the value we place on others because the sinful nature only reflects the value of the world [Genesis 1:31, Genesis 4:8, Genesis 5:5, Romans 1;28, James 2:1-9].

Genesis 3:26-29 brings our minds to how God sees each person. Psalm 139:13-16, Isaiah 43:1-7, Acts 10:34-35, Acts 17:26-28, Romans 2:11, Rom 14:1-4, and 1Peter 2:9 reminds us of God’s attitude towards each person.

In conclusion:

    * The transformation one gets helps to transform society.
    * The transforming power of Christ should be evident in our lives.
    * The transforming power in you will let you know the value and dignity God has given you if we allow God.
    * When there is transformation, the world will become a better place.

Workshop Discussion Questions

   1. From your experience, society views some people as more important than others. If you agree with it, what criteria does the world use to determine the value of an individual?
   2. From your understanding of the Bible, what criteria does God use to determine the value of a person?
